A New Generation of Colorists, Craftsmanship Passed On — The Seaforest Dyeing Skills Competition Concludes Successfully!
From October 21 to 22, Seaforest held the “Shine with Color, Compete with Skill” Dyeing Skills Competition across two venues. All contestants were newly hired dyeing and finishing technicians of the 2025 cohort — 14 participants from Juancheng and 5 from Qingdao. Competing on separate stages, they engaged in a final showdown of skill and craftsmanship through strands of hair.

Learning Through Competition, Strengthening the Basics
The purpose of this competition was to evaluate the contestants’ learning progress since joining the company, identify weak points through hands-on practice, and guide future improvement. By using competition to drive learning, we aim to foster a culture of “compete, learn, catch up, support, and surpass,” helping both contestants and mentors grow together and building a strong talent pipeline for Seaforest.

Live from the Arena: Color Art at the Fingertips
At the competition site, contestants focused intently, from identifying the underlying hair color after bleaching to designing the dyeing pathway based on the color chart. Every step tested their technical foundation and careful judgment.
Between each dyeing step came repeated comparisons, adjustments, and attempts: drying a strand of hair, checking it against the color board, recalibrating formulas… Behind these actions lies more than just technique; it reflects Seaforest’s shared values: Health, Responsibility, Agility, Excellence. Excellence is not achieved overnight. The precision required in each stroke of dye perfectly embodies craftsmanship in everyday work, built through dedicated practice and countless hours of effort.

Professional Evaluation, Fair Judging
To ensure professionalism, fairness, and authority in judging, Seaforest invited senior experts from both production bases to form the review panel. For the Juancheng division: Li Hongqiang, Cao Bo, Ren Xiaoqing, Yu Xiuzhi, Wang Hui, and Zhou Guibao served as judges. For the Qingdao division: Xu Haiying, Shan Jiabin, and Zhang Rong participated in judging.
The scoring system balanced accuracy with overall competence. Color accuracy — the core indicator — required the final result to closely match the standard color board, directly testing the contestants’ perception and technical precision.
In addition, output quality and operational efficiency reflected contestants’ awareness of material conservation, cost control, and dyeing proficiency. The evaluation provided a comprehensive look at over three months of learning and practices. More than a skills test, it served as a solid foundation for their careers.

Moments of Glory
After intense competition, standout contestants emerged from each venue. In Qingdao, Li Guannan claimed first place; in Juancheng, Wang Pu, Liu Ze, Du Jiaheng, and Wu Hao secured the top four spots.
Temporary gaps in performance are simply steps toward future progress. Regardless of the results, what matters most is growth and experience gained. We hope all contestants will carry this learning forward, turn it into motivation for continuous improvement, and strive for excellence in their future work. In this competition of skills, every participant who gave their all is a true winner.
Carrying Forward Craftsmanship, Building the Future Together
A competition is a test of skill, but also a vivid reflection of Seaforest’s spirit of self-improvement. Here, contestants compete in precision, learn from each other’s strengths, aim for higher standards, support collective progress, and surpass their past selves.
The competition may end, but the pursuit of excellence never does. Seaforest people will continue to bring this dedication to technique and passion for innovation into every position and every product.
Let us look forward to the next skill competition and to seeing brilliant colors shine again!
